Chairman's welcome

Members and fellow bowlers, welcome to a new season of bowling.

This year we have another landmark in the history of our Club. A very important lady will reach her 90th birthday, namely Edna Hodges.

Edna together with her late husband Bill, were the foundation of Cleobury Bowling Club as we know it today. Edna and Bill saw the main pavilion through planning and build to what we accept as the norm today. We had named the corner staging in their honour, but now felt it more fitting to name the pavilion, 'The Hodges Pavilion'.

I was sorry that Tony decided to call it a day as Club Secretary, but we are fortunate that Dave Harley has stepped into the role, and feel sure that you will all give him your support.

I am again pleased to report that there will be no increase in our green fees, due to the good house-keeping of your committee.

Looking forward to seeing you all on the green in 2011,

Don Scotford.

DO YOU FANCY A GAME OF BOWLS AT CLEOBURY MORTIMER BOWLS CLUB.

If you are a young person that would like to learn to play CROWN GREEN BOWLS, then read on.

We have started a project to introduce new young blood to the club, bringing young and old together.
This scheme, aims to show interested youngsters from all of the schools in the Cleobury Mortimer and outlying areas, an introduction, under the strictest supervision, an to CROWN GREEN BOWLS.
This project is completely free to all participants, all equipment is provided and a top class playing surface will make very enjoyable. All participants will usually receive one to one instruction from older members. All we ask of you is to wear flat soled shoes (trainers are ideal). Sessions take place on Tuesdays from 3.45 to 4.45. during school term.

Cleobury Mortimer Bowling Club would like to thank Cleobury Country for the funding to get this scheme up and running.
